Summary
In 2021, ZingaMetall Marine & Offshore (based in Johor, Malaysia) was awarded the contract to refurbish all 20,000 plus chairs in Terminals 1 and 2 of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). The work began in September 2021 and is scheduled for completion in mid 2022.
The surface of each chair is blasted to degree SA 2.5 in preparation for one coat of ZINGA (40 µm DFT) and one coat of ALU ZM (40 µm DFT). The chairs are then re-upholstered and returned to the airport for re-installation. The nature of the contract is such that all of the chairs in Malaysia’s other airports will eventually be refurbished with the same Zinga system. These will include the airports of Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching and Miri.

Summary
Located at Universal Studios in Singapore and based on the blockbuster film, “Waterworld”, the Waterworld attraction allows park visitors to witness a tidal wave of death-defying stunts, along with the thrills real fire explosions as part of a live water show.
In December 2020, Zingametall Singapore was contracted to refurbish the attraction’s metal infrastructure using Zinga. As part of the project, the team had to remove the old paint and use vapour abrasive blasting to prepare the surfaces for re-coating. Once the surface was adequately prepared, they applied two Zinga coats of Zinga to 100 μm (50 μm per coat). Two topcoats were then applied to finish the project - Zingatarfree MIO (2x 100 μm coats) and Nippon Hi-Pon Topcoat (1x 70 μm coats). Watch the video on our website to see the process in action.

London Eye
Location
London, UK
Summary
At 135 meters tall and a diameter of 120 meters, the London Eye attracts over 3 million visitors a year. When it opened to the public in 2000, it was the world’s tallest Ferris Wheel.
To protect the Eye from the busy boat traffic on the River Thames, there are 10 barrage pontoons on either sides of the wheel. The coating on these pontoons were in a bad state of repair and required refurbishing - the contract for which was awarded to Zinga.
The pontoons were transported to Gillingham Marina where they were blasted and coated between April and July 2015. An 80 micron basecoat of Zinga was applied to all surfaces. Zingatarfree (2 x 100 µm DFT) was then applied as a top coat on the immersed half of each pylon and Zingacream PU on the upper half (1x 60-80 µm DFT).
